A private place for teens to think out loud.

Work one-to-one and/or with family members to stabilize symptoms and address concerns across the larger family and school system.

How we can help

Adolescent counseling is aimed at young people to help them make sense of their feelings, behaviors, thoughts, and relationships. It is important in guiding kids transitioning into adulthood and helping them understand themselves better. There are also so many physical changes in the body during this time that can impact mood, along with many other physiological changes.

Information now shows that pressure to conform to their peer group, along with the challenges of social media, has spiked anxiety and depression in this age group. Many young people with or without “presenting symptoms” find that having a private, secure place to open up about their experiences helps them stay “mentally fit.” They report increased strength and capacity to deal with life's growing pressures and responsibilities.

Adolescent therapy — with or without family members present — can focus on interpersonal development, building an alliance with your child, helping them build an alliance with you, facilitating conversations to resolve attachment ruptures, and promoting autonomy and competency in your growing adolescent.
